An East bay Native, Matt became interested in cooking at an early age and began working in restaurants washing dishes in San Francisco at the age of 19. Originally viewing it as a temporary career while pursuing alternate, more financially viable life options at San Francisco State University, he eventually realized that thoughts of pasta stimulated him more than Kant did and decided to pursue cooking full time. Matt enjoys a full life outside of the kitchen and can be found making ceramics out of the Berkeley Potters Studio or contemplating free will and beauty.
